Getting a 500 Internal Server Error when navigating to your R12 or 11i application is quite painful to watch. This unexpected error was encountered in such that the web server fails to response to the client browser request.
Don’t be surprise if you found there’s no debug information on screen to assist your troubleshooting and the only way to diagnose the problem was by analyzing the Apache log files.

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, firstname.lastname@example.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
In our case, we faced the Internal Server Error on certain page of the Oracle Applications which means we can narrow down the problem was not related to Apache web server.
We analyze the code in the OA_HTML JSP files after gotten the list by troubleshooting based on the Apache log files.
It looks like there’s some coding error causing the Internal Server Error and we manage to fix the code and got the page up and running again.
If you are seeing the whole application serving the 500 Internal Server Error then it is wise to log case with the Oracle to fix this.
